Interior geography and contained space

The wooden box acts as an architectural element, defining and protecting an intimate space. The powdered pumice stone creates a lunar, porous, and vibrant surface that absorbs light and creates varying depths. The blue mineral pigments add a chromatic dimension that evokes water, sky, distance, and contemplation.

The metal—in various stages of oxidation—introduces an industrial and temporal memory that contrasts with the volcanic nature of the pumice stone. Each material retains traces of its past, which the artist reinterprets as layers of meaning.

Between painting and reliquary

The work occupies the threshold between painting, relief, and sculpture. The box is not a neutral support: it is part of the discourse, a container that suggests protection, secrecy, and private space.
