Original work on wooden board that integrates ash and traditional Asturian black ceramics in an exercise of contemporary material informalism.

Expressive territory and material memory

The dense, cracked surface functions like a geological terrain where each stratum retains traces of transformation. From this textured field emerges a central form of understated force: the black Asturian pottery, modeled and fired, which carries its own memory of fire and artisanal tradition.

The dialogue between the organic texture of the ash—a residue that is both end and beginning—and the polished surface of the ceramic articulates a reflection on erosion, memory, and permanence. The material is not merely decorative: it is the language and conceptual structure of the work.

Between painting and object

Its sculptural presence transcends the two-dimensional surface. The reliefs and depressions created by applied, sanded, and eroded layers form an emotional topography that reacts to the light. Under different lighting conditions, the work paints itself before the viewer's eyes.

A piece of solid character and coherent discourse, inscribed in the tradition of material informalism where the active surface becomes an interior geography, an intimate landscape without defined perimeters.
